HISTORY.

In 1894 P. Aker company was founded and is still operated as a family company. Initially the company started with the production and distribution of flower and vegetable seeds. As soon as the economical importance rose, P. Aker company focussed on the production of flowerbulbs, starting with Tulips, followed by Gadiolus and Iris. Around 1948 th export of these products to different European countries started, in 1950's also to the U.S.A., later followed by other countries. In the late 1980's the flowerbulb production was reduced to concentrate and specialise on the export of high quality products. The last decade P. Aker company had broaden its markets to Asia, Eastern Europe and even established a highly sophisticated company for sales and distribution in Australia. Besides this, P. Aker company is operating with several agents and representatives worldwide.

NOWADAYS.

Located in the Northern part of Holland, where most of the flowerbulbs are grown, the most modern facilities are available to handele the bulbs. Quality temperature rooms are one of the keys to a successful bulb treatment. The storage facilities are of such standards that bulbs can be stored year around for our customers. Disinfecting, insect control and packing are all done at this one location. Development in new and better machinery is constantly followed and machines are upgraded yearly where necessary. Our emphasis is not purelyon the supply of high quality products. We consider assitance and practical, technical support, an important service to our customers to help achieve and maintain success.

THE FUTURE.

The P. Aker company is interested and excited to enter new markets. With succes bulbs have already been shipped to countries such as, Autralia, New Zealand, Zambia, India, Italy, United States Mexico, Japan, China, Taiwan and even countries in the Middle East. Staff members of the P. Aker company often visit the customers in any part of the world. The goal is to provide top quality treated bulbs and service for the best financial result. During this visit we shall closely look at the crop, advise on conditions if necessary and discuss future opportunities with new varieties, trials, etc. Even with the newest technologies we feel that a personal approach is the key factor for a flowering future.
