OUR KNOWLEDGE.

By actively working in the flowerbulb business, we have gathered tremendous experience in all aspects of the flowerbulb growing and trade. A great deal of knowledge and experience was gained in the Tulip field, which enables us to know that a perfect treatment starts in the field long before the bulbs are harvested and brought into the storage. Each lot number used for clients is monitored closely. Every growing year has its differences and by keeping a close eye on the seasonal differences during the growing period, the company knows how to apply the best treatment to the bulbs. These treatments are often openly discussed with customers. Combining this knowledge provides the necessary information to customize treatments for each bulb lot. All bulbs are purchased from top quality growers only, which grow their bulbs in various areas of Holand such as Zeeland, North-Holland and South-Holland. For the very early flowering treatments, bulbs from Chili, New-Zealand, Brasil and at a later stage France are used.

Aker company does not only supply the bulbs and corms, but also has the most modern facilities and experience to store the product and give the best treatment in order to achieve excellent results. On arrival all product are thoroughly inspected on quality by our professional, highly experienced staff and the provide a quality report with all the relevant remarks. The highly motivated , knowledgeable staff of P. Aker company has gathered valuable information and knowledge in the field of bulb treatments. New varieties are constantly tested within our own facilities. Trough the years, studies on the effect of temperatures before start of the treatment has given this company information necessary to improve bulb treatments.

DEVELOPMENT.

In order to improve yearly, we work closely with hybridisers. Several promising new  varieties are currently tested in ou company greenhouses. The result of hybridising are stronger and longer lasting flower capabilities, varieties with better bulb storage capabilities, disease resistance and new colours. A lot of paper work in involved; custom documents, inspections, phytosanitairy certificates, transport documents and many more formalities. Our logistic manager is keen on advising and taking care on the whole operation specified to you particular needs. Besides this support we monitor the whole flowerbulbs/flower-chain, beginning with the breeders of the new flowerbulb cultivars, right through to the flower consumers. By doing this, we keep in tune with the movements in supply and demand, enabling us to handle any situation to the best of our ability at any time. Due to this experience and knowledge we van be considered a dynamic company.
