If you want to receive your order on time, it is very important that you call it early.

Here you can read the message from Maersk to all their partners:

Maersk introduces Peak Season Surcharge Far East

In recent months, the shipping industry has seen rapid changes. Since October 2019 we have been facing a shortage of reefer containers globally, caused by increased demand, especially for pork meat to China.

Since that time, COVID-19 has hit China and has now spread around the globe. We are dealing with an extraordinary situation, which is unknown and worrying all of us. Governments in all countries are making decisions to overcome this virus. Countries are being locked down,  which directly affects the global economy and therefor also the global logistics industry.

This gives pressure on the carriers as well. We have seen a lot of rate increases already and now Maersk Line is also introducing an additional Peak Season Surcharge of US$ 1000,00 p/40ft HC reefer container to all ports in the Far East. This surcharge will apply for 40ft HC reefer containers only and apply to all shipments departing on vessel MSC SVEVA #014E (ETD 09/04/2020) and after.

The coming months are important for shipping. To make sure we can accept all your bookings to the Far East (China – Vietnam – South Korea – Taiwan), we have negotiated an additional allocation with Maersk Line . With this allocation we hope to accommodate your bookings at the required shipping time, but this allocation also has a limit.
